This lovely white shorthaired male needs a very special home. He is only a youngster – approx. 2 years old – but he is FIV positive. This means that he needs an indoor-only home where he cannot come into contact with any other cats (unless they are FIV positive too). He could go outside if a suitable enclosure were built.
He is currently in good health and should have a normal life, if well looked after. If you feel you have the right home for this dear little cat, please contact us. We are happy to discuss his health issue and answer any more questions about his future and lifestyle.

If you feel you can offer Chalky the purrfect home, please click here to complete a homing enquiry form.

Hi
I am looking for a cat or cats that require an indoor home as I live near a railway line and a busy road. I have a four year old son who is very caring and sensitive.
Regards
Mandy
Hi Mandy – Many thanks for getting in touch. If you wouldn’t mind filling out a homing enquiry form (linked above), our homing team will be in touch asap. Many thanks.
Chalky has gone to his new home today – we are so pleased for him!
Chalky is happily munching his way through lots of roast chicken from one of the 3 hiding places he has established in the 24 hours be has been here. After lights out he happily went investigating and Im hopeful it won’t be too long before he starts doing this in the day light!
Hi Jill – Thanks for the update – really, really good to hear. Chalky can only get less shy in time, and I’m sure the roast chicken will help! Please do keep us updated on how he’s getting along. And blow him a kiss from us next time he leaves his hidey hole!

Hello, thought I would do a one month update, Chalky is settling in well. He plays all the time and even lets me join in with some of the games, he eats me out of house and home and now spends more time out rather than hiding. He is still very cautious and not ready to be touched but I think with time that will come. Please keep me in mind if another fiv cat becomes available as I think Chalky would love a friend!
This is wonderful – thanks so much for the update, Jill.
We’re currently waiting back to hear about another FIV positive cat who may need a home, so we hope to be able to find you (and Chalky) another feline friend very soon.
Hello
Just thought i’d give a Chalky update. After 2 months of no touching Chalky now purrs his head off and loves to be tickled and stroked! He talks to me as well. He needs you to be on his level and will come out for attention once you are sat on the floor and he can hear a packet of biscuits from a mile off being opened! Chalky has a pal Opie. Chalky would happily be friends but Opie is a bit unsure but all the cat yelling has stopped and there is now some head rubs and once Opie learns he is “top cat” i think he and Chalky will be great pals.
Both lovely cats, with their own personalities a bit of time and a routine was all Chalky needed to come out and show his true side, a lovely affectionate cat!
Many thanks for introducing me to my boys
Jill, thank you so so much for this update. Really great to hear that Chalky in particular is settling in so well after being such a scaredy cat. Just goes to show – don’t give up on the timid ones, people!
And it’s very early days for him and Opie…their relationship can only get better with time. Head rubs are obviously an incredibly positive progression and it’s fabulous to hear this is working out so well.
Thanks so much again.
Kisses to your ‘boys’ xx
