This is the very handsome Arthur! He might look like a tough enough character, but he was quite nervous when he came into Cats Protection care. Thanks to some caring TLC and a little patience from his foster carer, he has now really come out of his shell and actively seeks out fuss and attention.
Arthur has been in foster care waiting for someone to choose him as their newest feline friend for a long time now, and really deserves to be in a permanent, loving home.
A note from his fosterer:
“Arthur has come out of his “hiding hole” quite suddenly and now he can’t get enough attention and cuddles!! It’s just amazing how much he has changed from one day to the next, and we are very happy for him. He’s sitting next to me on the sofa as I’m writing this email!! He seems much more comfortable around the house, with us and even the guests, as he was demanding cuddles from our friends who were visiting us yesterday!”

Back in October I adopted my cat Sparkle from CP. Much like Arthur he was the ultimate scaredy cat and lived under my bed! After a bit of time and patience he started to gain in confidence and before long he ventured out briefly whilst in my presence for food. Every week he showed new signs of bravery and trust and now after only 4 months he is the most loving cat I have ever had and is a permanent fixture on my lap every night! He is still nervous but it’s really rewarding seeing the weekly improvement in him.
Please don’t be put off by Arthur’s nervousness, once you have gained his trust and he knows that you love him you will wonder how you ever lived without him
I’m Arthur fosterer and just wanted to say that he’s an adorable cat who will win a place in your hearts very quickly!!… it took him about a month to come from under the bed, but now he spends every evening with us on the sofa!… he is definitely worth the wait!
You’ll be very happy with him if you adopt him!!
He is lovely Deni, & he seems so relaxed & confident! It looks like your love & patience towards him has been rewarded ten fold
I really hope somebody sees what a lovely addition he will make to their home soon… (I’d love to take him but there’s no room on my lap!)
How old is Arthur?
Hi Carla – Our vets have estimated his age at around 3 years, so he’s only a youngster.
Oh he is GORGEOUS x
Hi. Do you know if Arthur would be happy living with another young cat? I’m looking for 2 cats when we move in a month’s time. Thanks, Teresa
Hi Teresa – I’ll ask someone to answer that for you, but in the meantime, do feel free to enquire via our homing enquiry form (linked above).
Cats are coming and going all the time; many before we have the chance to put them on the website, and we have a few dozen in care at any one time.
So it’s worth registering your interest with us now, so that we can contact you with details of cats you may be interested in. It would also mean we could get the formality of the home visit out of the way, too, so you’d be ready to go when ready
Thanks for getting in touch!
HI Teresa
Arthur is being fostered in a home without any other cats. We have no way of knowing what he would be like with other cats in situ as we do not know his history before we took him into care. He is a fairly timid cat but could be ok with another similar female cat rather than an over confident one. We think he needs a quiet-ish home
I am sooooo pleased Arthur has a new home to go to! He’s such a beautiful cat & I’m sure he’ll be the most loving pet
Arthur is still looking for a home. He has been waiting for such a long time – is there anyone out there who will give him a chance to shine?
Unfortunately the home fell through. Really hope some caring person comes forward to adopt him soon!
Arthur has finally gone to a new home!!!
